It’s Snowtime - The Dakar Capsule Collection

Following the success of last Autumn’s 2022 Ski collection, Porsche have combined forces yet again with the international sporting goods manufacturer HEAD to create their innovative 2023 Ski collection. The Dakar Capsule Collection epitomises high performance, innovative technology, and the highest quality of workmanship.

Porsche presented the new 911 Dakar last November and this collection picks up on the iconic design. It revives the myth of the most famous rally in racing history by using the legendary blue, red, white, and gold colours of the winning 1984 Paris-Dakar rally-modified all-wheel-drive 911. 

The two-time Olympic skiing champion and Porsche brand ambassador Aksel Lund Svindal collaborated with Porsche on the development of the new Porsche Ski collection with the main goal of designing highly sporty skis for passionate skiers.

The World-Cup champion put the Dakar Capsule Collection to the test on a variety of pistes and snowy conditions. They were determined to ensure that the skis were perfect for all conditions, and to ultimately make sure the entire collection was of the highest quality.

The Skis are all about being simultaneously stable and dynamic - HEAD makes use of a laminated wood core featuring Graphene and Titanal in both models, this mixture of lightweight but strong materials produces a highly responsive ski which reacts to your every move for ultimate performance. These skis also feature HEAD’s Energy Management Circuit, the world’s only electronic ski dampening system, which uses kinetic energy to absorb all negative vibrations for a smooth and stable experience with exceptional edge grip. Safety is priority, with both pairs being fitted with HEAD Protector 13 Bindings. The Protector 13’s Full Heel Release (FHR) Technology reduces the risk of injury for both the knee and lower leg as they offer both vertical and lateral release at the heel. So, even in the event of a twisting fall, a safe and effective full release is ensured. 7mm of bi-lateral movement also absorbs all impacts on the binding to avoid any unnecessary pre-releases.

The PORSCHE 7 Series - stable and dynamic. Inspired by slalom racing, the high-performance “Racing” skis take curves like a sports car. The 7 Series were designed to be dynamic with a centre width of 70 millimetres, to perfectly carve from edge to edge on those groomed slopes.

The horizontally padded front made of lightweight quilted Ripstop ensures you retain your body heat, and is robust against moisture. The softly lined stand-up collar, stretch cuffs on the sleeves and hem, help retain further heat whilst achieving that sporty aesthetic. The inside of the ankle area is reinforced with Schoeller® cut protection to provide even more durability.
